fuzzycurls & baldilocks
A tale of two souls, mashed together with incomprehensibly incompatible hairlines.
Wow has winter 2008-09 ever been busy for John and I. Curling competitvely has been a main past time for 15 years of my life and 2 weeks ago our team (Team O’Leary) qualified to compete at the 2009 Women’s National Championship/2010 Olympic Trials! We are one of ten women’s teams competing for the chance to represent the USA in the 2009 Worlds and then the 2010 Vancouver Games!
But first, I wanted to thank everyone for all the support (and patience of not seeing me) especially this last season. We are seeded about 7th of 10 in a very STRONG field, and with this sport, a team with a hot-streak can pull some surprises. We are very excited to be in the upsetter position, because there’s no pressure but to go out and play our best games. Hope you enjoy the action if you chose to watch!
Now on to more details. We will compete at the Broomfield Event Center outside Denver, CO starting tomorrow, February 21, and the tournament runs until February 28th. We have 9 roundrobin games. You can view the entire schedule here. The roundrobin finishes by Wednesday night, with the top 4 teams advancing to the playoffs. You can also check out the media guide for details and information on all the teams; we’re on page 12.
You can follow along online! Updated standings and scoring will be updated here on curlingzone, and John or I will post periodic updates here on our webpage as well. We can receive emails too! Click here or send them to teamoleary[at]usacurl.org.
Again, thank you for all your support! I couldn’t be here without the love and support of my friends and family!
